Whitewater Winter Music Series Valentine’s Edition Recap & Employee of the Month
Last night was truly a magical experience! Love was in the air as community members gathered at Eddyline Restaurant for the Whitewater Winter Music Series Valentine’s Edition! Guests joined loved ones and friends for a delicious community-style dinner, music, live art, Eddyline craft beers and cocktails.
Beginning with a blank canvas, Artist, Jesse Crock took beautiful color pallets and turned them into magnificent Colorado landscapes before our very eyes. Each piece was raffled off to three lucky winners every hour. Jesse donated his time and talents to benefit our renowned River Park.
Simultaneously, guests were musical pleased by multi-talented musician, Kort McCumber. He was accompanied by a plethora of instruments with beautiful vocals to match. He was later joined by special guests, Tommy and Saundra O’Sullivan from Ireland.
Thank you to our sponsors and community supporters for joining us for a special evening! Mark your calendars for bluegrass and rock & roll band, Oakhurst on Saturday, February 28 from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm.
Meet Dana Johnson
Dana moved to Buena Vista from Columbia, Illinois just outside of St. Louis, Missouri about 8 years ago with his wife, Becky and son. Why you ask? Simply because of the climate and majestic mountains. Dana was a top pick since he had six years of experience in the hospitality industry in Florida and at casinos in St. Louis, which was in the middle of his 32 years in the IT field.
We asked Dana the following questions about working at Eddyline and some interesting facts about himself.
1. What do you like most about working at Eddyline?
I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the people I have worked with and for have always treated me very well.
2. What is your favorite food items, Eddyline beer and cocktail served at Eddyline Restaurant?
New Mexico Wood-Fired Pizza, Eddyline River Runners Pale Ale and Knob Creek Bourbon.
3. What is your favorite activity to do in Buena Vista?
I enjoy the numerous hiking trails and especially the 14ers right outside our doorstep. I have hiked all three of the Collegiate Peaks including Mount Princeton, Mount Yale and Mount Harvard, in that order. My goal each summer is to hike one 14er. My favorite has been Mount Harvard because when we reached the top, we were greeted with Mountain Goats.
4. What are some activities that you like to share with your family?
My wife and I love hiking Interlaken Lake up at Twin Lakes, Barabara Whipple Trail and parts of the Colorado Trail by Cottonwood Lake. A lot of our time is spent following our 16 year old son to his football games and track meets. Go Demons!
5. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
At the age of 49, I did my first marathon. Since then I have completed 12 marathons in 9 different states. My personal best was at my 2nd marathon where I won 3rd in my age group and had my personal best of 3 hours and 39 minutes.
